Version 3.7.3 Print Film Guide for MRI Technologists

This document guides MRI technologists step-by-step through the process of printing film from
Centricity PACS-IW.

1. Click anywhere on the study’s row in the Study List to launch Image Viewer and load a
patient’s exam. Or click the monitor icon in the study’s row.
2. From the menu bar, select Key Images. From that menu, select Format.

3. From the Format sub-menu, click the desired format for the Key Image preview window (for
example, Film 4x5 template). A (blank) preview window immediately displays.
4. Click anywhere in the desired series window to make that the active window. A blue title bar
indicates that a series is active.
5. From the Key Images menu, or by right-clicking to view a floating menu, select Add Current
Series to FILM preview. The series is added to the Key Image preview, leaving the first cell
open as the scout cell.

6. From the main toolbar, click the Add Key Image button. This button appears only after
a format for the preview window has been selected.
7. Click the title bar of the series that contains the scout image. This image should be on a
different anatomical plane than the image(s) in step 3. Scroll through this series until the
scout image is displayed.
8. Click and drag that image into the scout cell, which is bordered by a blue dashed line. A
floating menu immediately displays.
9. Select the second item — "Use in Every Empty Slot –This Series Only." A scout image with the
corresponding reference lines is displayed in the scout cell.
10. Repeat steps 4 through 9 for the other series to be printed.

11. When the desired series have been added, click the DICOM Print button located on the
toolbar of the Key Image window (to the right of the preview).

12. Choose the printer; then click the Done button to close the study.
