EXPERIENCES OF OUR YOUNG LEOS IN LEOISM.
01 ABOUT US.
The legendary Leo Club of Kolonnawa is one of the well
decorated and well experienced leo clubs hailed from Leo District 306C1.
The club ultimately became a leading and a popular Leo club among the
local community of sri lanka by going along with 19 years of excellence.
The legendary Leo club of Kolonnawa has pioneered and successfully
executed more than 2000 Charity projects during the past 19 years. The
slogan "A family like no other ", have added a significant uniqueness to
the club.

Throughout these Long years the Leo club of Kolonnawa has

produced 5 district presidents to the Leo District 306C1.

The club was recognised by the International and by the Multiple

District of 306 many times and has been awarded for its extraordinary
ability to work for a betterment of todays world. The proud club always
keen on to do massive service project which is more productive in every
sense.

02 HIGHLIGHTS
IGHLIGHTS
The legendary club of Kolonnawa is filled with enthusiastic and Energetic,
young Leos.

In the month of September, the Leo Family of Kolonnawa has done

4 main projects such as Vinivida phase two, Dhaana, Nanasen epita,
and the Orientation program.

All the above mentioned projects were chaired by our very own
youngsters in the club.

These projects have helped to make the communities a better tomorrow

and also helped our very own Leos to build up their inner skills and
strengths.

01VINIVIDA 2
Vinivida 2 was a short movie project by Leo Club of Kolonnawa. It was
based on a true story of a fallen girl victimized by the ongoing
cyberbullying crime in Sri Lanka.

The Project was chaired by the Immediate Past President of the Leo club of
Kolonnawa, Leo Kulinda Kithsiri.
The video is a true story of a girl who got caught on cyberbullying crime. She
was blackmailed by edited pictures. After going through such harassment,
the girl decided to give up and end her life. Since cyberbullying has become
one of the major ways of harassing people, the goal
of the young Leos of Kolonnawa was to use technology to raise awareness,
to help to prevent this issue and to let the harassed people to know that
they are not alone.

After releasing the video on face book on the 2ND of September 2017, it has
reached out to more than 22,000 users around the Sri Lanka which
signifies the productivity of the project.

02 DHAANA
Dhaana is a project that has been continuously held by the Leos of
Kolonnawa for years along with the lions club of Kolonnawa.

The young Leos distributed a packet of Kadala, 2 packs of Biscuits and a

bar of soap to each mother and child who participated in the
Kolonnawa Maathru Niwasaya clinic.
The Lions of lions club of kolonnawa, distributed milk powder packets,
Samaposha packets and all the necessary medicines for a
household.

On each month, We, the young Leos of Kolonnawa reserve one day from
our calendar for this project and is been chaired by the President of Leo
club of Kolonnawa, Leo Nisal Dulmith. This project has been a great help
for the economically needy families who comes to the Kolonnawa Mathru
Niwasaya clinic.

The project for the month of September was held on the 10 th of

September starting from 3.00 pm.

03 NANASEN EPITA
Nanasen Epita was a workshop to enhance the leadership skills and
to motivate the students in kaluwamodara Maha vidyalaya, Beruwala.
The project was successfully hosted under the leadership of the Vice
president of the club Leo Gayanthi kaluarachchi on the10th of September
2017 at katuwamodara school premises.

The main target of the Leo club of Kolonnawa was to motivate them in a
successful manner. Therefore the Leos teach formalities, disciplines, by
having group discussions and fun outdoor activities to the senior section
of the school. A movie was shown to the primary section of the school
and afterwards a few fun activities such as handworks and number
games were held.

Books and essential resources to host the project were donated by many
Leos and Lions in Sri Lanka. At the end of the day, a box of essential first
aid and exercise books were donated to the school. Another
humanitarian project was done successfully by the legendary club of
Kolonnawa.

04 ORIENTATION
In Leoism, Orientation programs are important because they lay a
foundation for the newly joined Leos in order to adapt faster to Leoism.

Therefore the Leo club of Kolonnawa initiated an orientation program for

the newly Joined Leo Prospects and the remaining young Leos of
Kolonnawa club on a fine day, 25th of September at the Royal Collage
Union (RCU).

The Orientation was initiated by two great prides of the Leo club of
Kolonnawa, Past district president Leo Dhanushka Sandanayake & Past
district president Leo Sudheera Bandara. They educated the New Leos
about the histories of the leoism in Sri Lanka as well as the world.
These two great prides taught the meaning of True leoism and how we
should behave as Leos to make this world a better place.
The orientation was a successful program and helped the new Leos to
improve their retention and encouraged the Leos to build confidence and
to adapt fast to leoism.

03 LEO AND ME

Leo club of Kolonnawa

Leoism was introduced to me by my cousins who were already Leos in

year 2011. Even though I’ve seen the projects done by my cousins, I didn’t
know anything about Leoism. For now it has been 6 years since i join leoism.
Just as you and everyone else, I was never an active Leo member in the be-
ginning.
My turning point of becoming an active Leo member was in year 2014 and it
was due to a chance I got to chair a project which turned out to be a very
successful.

In year 2015 under the immediate past President Leo Kulinda Jayasen, I did
a project which became the “Best community project in 2016/2017”. After
chairing that project what I realized was that a young crowed can do a lot of
great things for this great nation.
Most of the people in our society has no idea about Leoism and about what
the Leos do. Yes, it is true that we help the needy people in the society and
serve this country. In addition to that there are lots of things which helps us
to build our inner personalities and to make ourselves better.

In This year as the president of Leo club, one of the best things that I have
learnt is about wealth & humanity. After becoming a Leo I got a chance to
meet a lot of new characters in to my life. After talking with them what I
realized was that when a person becomes wealthy and achieve greater
things, the humanity decreases from that person quickly. Through Leoism I
have met a lot of People who has got to balance these two in life. Another
thing that I have learned from leoism is to serve people in need. Further-
more, I have to admit that I have fun in what I do through this Leo journey.
If I did not enjoy myself throughout this Leo journey I would not give my
100% in to Leoism. If so, this would not be a successful journey.

One great thing I learned out of million things from Leoism is that no man is
perfect and mistakes do happen. You have to make sure you would do it
next time right. Mistakes makes a human and correcting the mistakes helps
to build a better community and a bright future.
