1. How to Calculate Fluency Rate (words per minute)

Number of words ÷ Number of seconds x 60 = WPM

2. Telling the time

Little slow hour hand is on or has just gone past…
Big fast minute hand count by 5s (add any extra minutes in between)

3. Verb = doing or action words (e.g. running)

4. Noun = a person, place or thing (e.g. boy, park, computer)

5. Adverb = a word which describes or adds meaning to a verb by telling how, when,
why or where a thing is done (I am going to quickly run to the canteen)

6. Adjective = a describing word (e.g. the chirpy bird)

7. Contraction = a shortened form of two words (e.g. we’ve = we have)
