Four Word(s): Expression
Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 9:59pm

In my life, I have always wanted to double mean, symbolize, refer, self refer, indulge and
self indulge. I have always been fascinated by non linearity, myth reversal, legend
manipulation and literary re-use. I've been constantly looking for platforms to express
satire, guilt, disgust, love, devotion and the lack of it. And, of all the forms of creative
expression, poetry is the most spontaneous, basic and stark. Poetry is all of what I've
wanted to do and more. Poetry is freedom; to the mind, to the soul, to the life and to the
way to be.

1. Lovelier Than Liquor
Friday, September 3, 2010 at 8:13pm

Higher than the heights, she gets. Harder than the stone.
Deeper than the Pot. With her thoughts, all alone.

Wasted like a weed, I feel greener than the grass,

Loaded in the head, and her memories won't pass.

Lighter than the smoke, she is farther than she's gone,

Sharper than a syringe pin, still turning me on.

Sweet as sugar sound her words, Acidic is the trip.

Boozer standing on a plain, No substance to grip.

Deadlier than a drinking binge, Tipsier than the Floyd

Lovelier than liquor she, left me emptier than void.

2. I And E (The Story Of My Life)
Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:57am
I don't know how, but coming to think of it,
I never could make so much sense of it,
until today when I realized,
that I and E are the story of my life.

My first memory of getting scolded by mom

was when I got the spelling of "freinds" wrong.
Used the E before the I instead,
and came back with a class work paper marked red.

I misspelt "Engineir" too

And I sincerely had no clue,
till a dad looked at his demure son
and said, "I am an engineer and so you'll be one."

I then had problem with "reciept",

and was a subject of financial "deciet".
And that is when the king sat down and thought,
Let’s take loans max but return not.

This too passed, and what came next,

was I and E's ultimate test.
When you're drunk and in need of an advisor,
can you still spell "budwieser"?

Well, the fact of the matter is simple enough,

I and E are just weird and tough.
Considering the fact that the word 'weird',
has its own I and E and means absurd.

3. Common Wealth
Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 8:10pm

In an Indian Village old and green, once there lived a river,

Always quenched the wealthy thirst, to the commons she'd never delivered.
Near the river on a corner stone, sat a divine sage,
who waited for the young women folk, just to come of age.

The coaching that he gave them was, not on righteous traits.

Instead he taught the ladies on, his sexual escapades.
Sitting next to the pious presence, was the village time merchant,
None of his sand-clocks ran on time, for delay was his prime penchant.

In a few more days, the village was, to play host to a set of games.
So the village head and elders galore, started scanning names,
of the men they thought would fit the bill, for this gigantic task,
Someone to whom, once they give the job, no reports they'd need to ask.

The gentleman they settled on, was called 'Suresh Kalmadi'.

This pick cost them hard because, the games were a dead body.
The village goddess lost her jewels, the thief was her own priest,
Terror threatened the village crowd, and the river was a pool of heist.

On the day of the games, the river dried up, and took with her the town.
Thousands of visitors watched in pain, a culture falling down.
Like every story, this one too, has its own set of morals,
Indians have again brought their home, international laurels.

4. Dead Man Loving
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:23pm

He is dead, passed out of the world last year,

and in the business class of hell he summons the memories
of the lady of his life.

Recalls the way his world was engineered and designed,

and how only during the electricity of his lessons,
could he converge with his love.

In this life after death that ramifies contracts

and kicks relationships to a backstage beyond,
the dead man can't help but remember her.

The efforts he made to catch her glimpse

and the time he had for the same.
I don't mind failing to die again, he says.

Just get me back to her.

Who says dead men don't have memories?
Businessmen do

5. Twilight Love
Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 12:25pm

In this story I am telling you,

not everyone is always human.
She loves him more than she loves herself,
while he's scared that the love might kill them.

Well, things are not as simple though,

and there's someone else who loves her.
She loves him too, not as much though,
But he is the best of lovers.

The warmth that he brings for her,

she can't get from no one else.
That is not a fact she buys because,
In her market, only Edward sells.

So let’s take a break, and like we do for others,

let’s summarize this predicament too.
She loves him and she loves Him,
He loves her and he loves her too.

One love is just pure passion,

One love is catch twenty two.
One love is a one sider,
One love, though not preferred, is true.

In this isosceles triangle of love,

live not just Edward Bella James.
There are Salman Shahrukh and your Undergrad,
still engaged in these games.

6. High Time
Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11:56am

It is high time my high times stop making faces

and help exponentially increase the number of cases
of the worlds that are disgusted with me
and my drunk self for invading them with my privacy

In eleventh standard, with the governor, I had high tea

Now it’s not just high time, its time up for me

It is high time I realize that I'm not the only cool

And no one in this world likes to be called or made a fool
out of themselves by men like me who had no right
in the first place and neither am I the one who can fight

In eleventh standard, with the governor, I had high tea

Now it’s not just high time, its time up for me

It is high time I learn how to hold up my spirits

in a container brain that well, knows its limits
and has a sense of sense and a sense of shame
and restricts his highness to just a name

In eleventh standard, with the governor, I had high tea

Now it’s not just high time, its time up for me

7. Love Actually
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 8:47pm

Do we have to be in those fields

Endless and tall grass, sunshine and moon
Can't love emerge from the cramp of a hostel room?

Do we have to fall from the falls

In slow motion and all?
Can't we confess our love over just another phone call?

Do Guitars have to string

And do bells have to ring
Can't I see you for the first time at a polluted traffic signal?

Should a pair of shaking flowers

And a switched off night lamp
Be the way we make out on the mattress damp

Do glasses have to break

And should Atif Aslam be given a chance
Can't a simple SMS end our brief romance?

8. Something Else Or Someone New
Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 11:19pm

How do you feel when you're asked to fight

not just your identity crisis but others' too?
When your hands are tied and dreams are killed
and they ask you to keep your eyes open too?

When you're so used to helplessness

Doesn't even a tea spoon of help turn scary?
What do you do when the legend leaves you
with only his soul and none of his armory?

Have you ever felt lost in a moment so much

that if it were to extend you would lose the plot?
Have you ever wondered why dancing with tight shoes
ends up giving your right big toe a big blood clot?

9. Why Do You Sing?
Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 12:55pm

Her incoming call was not a surprise

Will I ever get to see the truth in your eyes
They were right when they said the cat knows it all
Four seasons later we're still waiting for the fall

So, Why do you sing?

Why do you sing what’s not really a song?

Overdosed on I, you forgot a we

what do you expect from such a family
The only thing you ever did was half of ten
The rest of it all belonged to other real men

So, Why do you sing?

Why do you sing what clearly is not a song

Since when, Since when did you become us

And till when, till when will you continue to fuss
If you can't get started on anything
Why don't you simply leave it to the king

And, Why do you sing?

Why the fuck do you sing what obviously is not a song....

10. The Case!
Monday, July 19, 2010 at 4:02pm

As I stand, razor in hand

Shaving clean my face
Barrister Heart and learned counsel Mind
are fighting my romance case

Mind goes first, defines lust

says this so called love must end
If 'seeing someone' means just looking at them
then you surely are not her boyfriend

Objection my honor, says Heart from a corner

she gives his pulse a chase
Objection denied, shouts spinal cord
Its irrelevant to the case

My first witness, is Sarah's dress

claims Mind, as he brings a dustbin up
Into this she'd put his gift after
burning his face with a tea cup

Cross question now, and Heart goes slow

first secures the holy oath
The tea cup's a thing of the past he says
Now just take a look at them both

Contd.
He is kissing her, their views concur
and oh, well they're going out
So my lord, I request thee
to accept the love in this court

Next in queue, in the witness crew

is the latest shopping mall
He'd reached the place an hour before the date
and She'd not even bothered to call

With this cruel joke, the heart gets a stroke

and puts his papers down
Mind stands up and claps at my face
says you were fighting for a clown

Judgment hour, Spine has the power

He grips his ball pen tight
Writes his decision down and says
Mr. Heart you were always right

11. Lovers In The Falls Dying
Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 12:32pm

The king of smiles in his woolen whites

Staring at death from hydro heights
The Sunshine of his life, in her Salwar yellow
Wondering what drove them here and how

Two years back, in a fruit juice shop

their hearts had met and had begun to hop
She ran to her dad, her love she confessed
' Dear daughter I know, how he is to be addressed"

In the twelve months that followed, he was threatened and hit

In an effort to reason, the couple ran out of their wit
Through the next one year as their love ascended
'we'll live or leave, as one', they surrendered

On a Monday morning, a death note back home recorded

They arrived at the falls, to watch their love get rewarded
Laughed with the fisher men, played with the kids
Made love and to love after death, they bid

As they dressed back and walked to the edge

and stuttered through their planned love pledge
He carved their names on the bark of a tree
And counted with tension, one two and three

Jumped with hands holding each other's tight

but got separated half way through their flight
She was torn into pieces , scarf found later in a ranch
He was alive trying to kill himself, while stuck on a tree branch

12. Bhang Bhang, (My Baby Shot Me Down)
Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2:55pm

Holy holiday and a bowl of beautiful plants

dancing in flavored milk, with colored hands and ants.
Drenched and drenching were we, as the sun started a journey top,
For once in the country's year, grass was okay with the cop.

So I dipped in for eight full rounds and came back for a couple more
Impatient to the later kick-ins predicted by the bhang folk lore.
And then I took in the paste, as I witnessed an Irish fest
Hundreds of doped male bodies, watering a cotton white breast.

As I bid adieu to the green garden, Sun and the stone were friends
They started pounding my brain and none of roads had ends
Three wheels in a two wheeler, everyone was a police dude
A hallucinated walk back to hostel, doubtful of whether I would

Then chose to go shopping instead, with an increasingly blurring sight

and for the next one full hour, I was in a ten-minute long fight,
For just rupees twenty five, the shop keeper wasn't paying heed
So much so that I doubted if he were the one who had more weed

Made my way back somehow and had almost just resigned

when twin sisters called hunger and laughter started fucking with my mind
An insane giggling at insanity, I gobbled down a whole large pizza
Logged on to my chat and cursed the self made Monalisa

Random images burst my thoughts, came a beautiful Madras chick

we spoke of Edison being gay and how north Indians are sick
And then as night reached midnight, men came up to where I lay
and said O' King please get kicked, it is your happy birthday.
Mani Prakash, Tumpa Chatterjee and Vivek Kutty like this.
13. And I Am An Idiot Right?
Sunday, July 4, 2010 at 1:10pm

Seven years after they fell from the hill

In a live-in relation were Jack and Jill
They had found themselves an HR course
Jill was this learning's driving force

So one fine day, back from the institute

She said 'listen Jack, I don't wanna talk to you'
Of such an experience was jack destitute
and so he asked "can you tell me Jill, what I did do?"

'No' said Jill, 'go find out if you want'

'If you don't tell me baby, I sincerely can't'
I don't care about that, she cried, twitching her lips
Clueless and insane he, already missing her hips

'Don't touch me jack, you don't like me anymore'

What’s come to this woman he thought
In the next two days, things got so sour
that they did not even share the damned cot

Contd.
A week went by and he gets a call
'How are you jack, my baby doll?'
Exclamation marks popped up his mind
Why is this bitch acting so kind?

She wanted him to help with her Labor law work

and he felt like the labor himself, just another clerk
She thanked him as if nothing had happened
What bloody character sketch, for women had god penned?

and then it was, 'come on jack let’s make the bed'

hey what happened to the big fight?
'Sure love, am coming in a minute', he said
and thought "and I am an idiot right?"

14. July Flower
Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 7:24pm

Once upon a time, not too long ago

In the capitol garden, red roses used to grow
But all of them had a plastic cover
All but one called the July flower

From the south-east coast had the plant arrived

and I can't even tell you the pleasure I derived
just to watch it blossom through a friend sized lens
The July flower and her special semblance

July is back but the flower is not

No wonder that the garden is a rot
Memories try fading, smiles still linger
This and all is too much, Go to KFC and have Zinger (meal)

No baby, I'll have to talk to you later
Because I have tons of torrents to download
and porn that helps me when I’m so bored

And suddenly in the bed, I'm screaming and all

Welcome to real life, Mr. P'mal Bansaaaal
They've stolen your torrents and blocked your porn
and the attached bathroom is forever gone

Techno accident, unwanted incident. Mobile, an outlaw.

Click vehement, cell incontinent. An untimely flaw.

Lady bent, buttock violent . Looked in awe.

Notebook dent, document. Blood in my love.

Account Vacant, Dad adamant. Am financially thawed.

Kurt malcontent, Jimmy jubilant. In indulgent flow.

Hoodlum non-gent, naked, blatant. New manly low.

New born night, frozen breeze. Insane clouds debriefed.

Indian Village, Temple Bell. Lovers on an L M L.

Two men fled, place of birth. Like ghosts flying out of earth
Enter heaven, racing wheels. Manful groan, Macho squeals.

Heretic cries, screaming goons. Sleeping Sun, Street-lit Moon

Chased them down, end of road. Gay saale, Madar Chod.

Killed were they, what lived on was Attraction's truest form.

I, the hungry, anchors down,

in mood for non-veg food.
You the beautiful, innocent fool,
wondering if you should!

Resident evil, the only one,

I tell you that you stink.
"Rush to the bath, I'll get your towel"
with a reassuring blink!

"Hey! I'm done, just pass it on"

You plead as you stretch your arm
I hold your hand to drag you on
and unleash your naked charm

Your every nerve from eye to toe

is goose bumping with shame
"Can we do this after marriage?", you ask
"No you think I'm that Lame?"

So now you lose it, all to me

your cunt, your boobs, I own.
I start my mobile camera
and get the event shown.

I am spanking you, to glory now,

your buttocks are a Chinese flag.
Author, its time to wake up now
That is the end of the shag!

Where are the moments they tried in vain

He fed her soup and kisses

and now she gives him bones and hisses,

Sleep in his bed and you'll know how he feels
