CHECKSHEET FOR STUDENTS GRADUATING IN THE CALENDAR YEAR OF 2019
To earn a minor in history, a student must satisfactorily complete a minimum of 18 semester hours of history courses with
a minimum 2.0 GPA in all courses taken to satisfy the minor. The 18 hours for the minor must inelude at least 3 hours
of credit from each of three of the four groups of HIST courses (Groups I-IV). At least 12 of the 18 hours must be on
the 2000 level or above, and at least 6 of the 18 must be at the 3000 level or above. 6 hours maximum can be counted
from the 1000 level. 1000 level HIST courses count as elective credit towards the minor.
2000- and 3000-level HIST courses are divided into the following four groups: I: Empires, Colonialism, and
Globalization; Il; Ideas, Traditions, and Cultures; II: Science, Technology, Environment, Medicine; IV: Conflict,
War, and Peace. HIST 1984, 2984, 3984, 2104, 2114, and 2124 can be substituted to appropriate groups. Please
