Introduction

Les Miserables also known as The Miserables, The Wretched, The Miserable

Ones, The Poor Ones, The Wretched Poor, The Victims and The Dispossessed, is a

novel written by Victor Hugo that is made into a musical, and then a movie in the year

2012 directed by Tom Hooper. It follows the life and struggle of an ex-convict, Jean

Valjean.

It garnered a lot of attention from the audience because of its interesting

plot/storyline. Though I did not really understand the movie with just watching it once but

all I can say is Les Miserables is truly an amazing piece of work.

I had a dream my life would be

So different from this hell I'm living

So different now from what it seemed

Now life has killed the dream

I dreamed
This is from the song "I dreamed a dream" sung by Anne Hathaway (Fantine in

the movie) this part of the song was stuck into my heart and mind.

It expresses how hard, unfair, and sad her life was to the point that she described

her life is living in hell. Her experience was a sore that brought anguish and agony to

her. She sang the song full of grudge and passion that totally induced a strong

sentiment to the viewers.

The Les Miserables is about the the foul interpretation of crime and dignity.

Looking down and the unfair treatment to the weak. All about poverty and greediness.

The war between the weak but strong and the strong that only depends on their power,

also the weak. A fight to be heard and answered.
