Engineering Analysis for design

During the idea generating process, lots of drawing been sketch and then the idea illustrated in the
software. By using AutoCAD 2015, mechanical department start to draw the product. Modification
and changes are apply in order to make sure the design of the praying mat with the components
attached to the prototype is suitable and fit with all the dimension as given by the other department.
The survey process is the next step. All the part and materials that required for the prototype were
listed to make sure all needed part are available in the market.

The SAF device specification is based on a few survey that have been done and assumption
made. From the research that we've done, the gap between a person’s feet that need to be followed
is by a span of the palm. The average span from our research is 20 cm. The switch is placed and the
gap between each switches is 20 cm apart for each prayer mat. The switches are placed in the PVC
floor protector as to protect the switch and as well to hold it.

As the indicator for the ma’mum, the red and green LED is placed in front of the prayer
mat.For the iman, only the green LED is placed at the front of the imam’s prayer mat as the
indication that the ma’mum’s gap is closed and the line is straight.

After all electrical and mechanical part finish with all task, now the process continued with
the fabrication process. In this process, both department worked together in order to finish up the
product. After the process done, we then proceed with assemble all the mechanical and electrical part
together. The circuit is then place in the circuit box and testing of prototype done in the lab.
Adjustment and modification needed were done so that the prototype can work well during the
presentation.
