Types of Menus
Menu
Is a French word which means “small” or “detailed” and has come to mean a list of dishes that
are to be served at a meal or the meal itself
1. Cyclical menu
2. A La Carte Menu

Cyclical menu
Is a set of carefully planned menus rotated according to a definite pattern
This enables planner to draw conclusions as to the comparative popularity of different menu
A La Carte Menu
Translated as “from the card”
The dishes that make up the menu are changed according to season
The dishes are changed daily or may be featured for a short period of time
Consists of multi-course dinner at a fixed price and is usually served to all guests at a specified
time
Function Menu
Called as “special menu”
Offered during special occasions like weddings, baptismal, parties, anniversaries and the like
Printed daily in two copies. One for lunch and one for dinner
