SPARKLET MODEM A GSM/GPRS modem for Automatic Meter Reading purposes A very easy to install modem with electricity | meters. ‘The Sparklet modem is designed to | be directly interfaced on electricity | meters using the RU45 socket. No | power cable and no PSTN cable. ‘Only one interface cable between | meter and modem to communicate and to power on the modem. ‘The modem can be fixed under meter terminal cover or externally on DIN rail. ‘The modem is connected to an internal antenna (under terminal cover) or to an extemal aerial if required ‘Three leds indicates the status of ‘the modem | Communication mode Flexibility ‘The modem is very flexible in the way to use it. Two modes of ‘communication are support + GSM mode compatible with most of meters and data collection system ‘+ GPRS mode managed by the modem itself and using TCP protocol directly or using tunnelling. SIM card installation The SIM card holder is located inside the housing as mobile phone. ‘The SIM card is accessible only by opening the enclosure. A seal label could be stuck on the housing to detect any tampering attempt when modem fixed on DIN rail.
