Engineers rely on different forms of communication when they interact with their

colleagues/clients/groundmen

1. Engineers use different methods of communication such as visual aids/ drawings/dialects


to describe their ideas.
How about foreign clients?

their colleagues and clients
 Engineers communicate informally between one another in the workplace.

2. Engineers from different disciplines and backgrounds have disagreements and conflict in
ideas.

4. It can be difficult to devise solutions in a workplace, since most of the engineering


problems require knowledge across engineering sub-disciplines

5. Conflicting ideas are normally ironed out amongst themselves mostly through SOP rather
than the applying what they learnt before.

1. Majority of the engineering technical content found in the University syllabus are not
applicable to real-life scenarios. Graduates very often find themselves having to learn
on the job with little prior knowledge to fall back on.
a. However companies are hiring graduates solely based on their academic
results, which is an inaccurate indication of the capabilities of a young
engineer.

Things engineers learnt in schools are


a) irrelevant in their workplace
b) Unsure of to apply what they learnt

3. Engineers pick up social skills and learn how to solve problems on the job
