Dear people of Boston,  

As many of you know May 10 just a couple short weeks ago the sons of liberty joined 

Samuel Adams and disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians. They took over three ships that 

were located in our amazing harbor, filling it with over 92,000 pounds of our tea. They did this 

by holding the crew hostage but leaving everyone untouched, cutting into multiple boxes of tea, 

and throwing them overboard. This has put a huge impact on our tax on tea. The Tea Act was the 

final straw​ in a series of unpopular policies and taxes imposed by Britain on her American 

colonies. The passing of the Tea Act imposed no new taxes on the American colonies. With this 

huge damper on our society economically and also socially. We need to come together and make 

the congress happy.
