This handbook contains model listings for virtually all of the international vehicle manufacturers that market vehicles in the United States. It provides details of model offerings, VIN location and structure, and other label locations to assist in identifying a particular model. Vehicles included in this book are shown in alphabetical order by manufacturer. Specific questions should be directed to individual manufacturer representatives who are listed on page 4. For example: + Honda Accord’s Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle, which allows for a leaner air/fuel mixture in cold start conditions, reduces hydrocarbon emissions by about 75% compared to other new vehicles. + Mitsubishi Motors’ revolutionary Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine helps prevent global warming. Itsignificantly reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by injecting fuel directly into the engine cylinders. Production capacity was recently increased to 40,000 due to demand, + Nissanis testing a Nighttime Pedestrian Monitoring System. An infrared ray detects persons crossing the roadway in front of the vehicle.
