Title

English teaching methods that work best with students at the English Department of the Faculty
of Philology at the University of Prishtina (UP).

Rationale

My research will focus on finding the English teaching methods that work best with students at
the English department of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Prishtina.

This is needed because it will help professors to understand which teaching methods most of
their students prefer and why, how these methods affect the students’ engagement and interest.
This research will help also students who want to become teachers in the future to know which
are the more applied and effective teaching methods.

Scholars argue/have found that there exist seven ELT methods.

However they have not focused on finding out if these English teaching methods are applied in
the Faculty of Philology at the University of Prishtina (UP). If professors work with one or more
methods, how the students perceive these methods, if there are any changes in teaching methods
applied to 1st,2nd and 3rd year students and which methods English students of the UP find more
approachable.

Research questions

My research questions/aims are:

Which is your study year?

Which teaching is more approachable to you and why?

Which teaching methods is less interesting to you and why?

Third year students will be asked also if they have noticed any differences in ELT methods
during this three years, if the same professors have worked differently in different study years.

Methodology

I will conduct my research using questioners among English students of the Faculty of Philology
at UP. Approximately 180+ students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year will be asked to answer the
questions.

My sources of data will be collected by five colleagues. We will mainly focus on 1st, 2nd and 3rd
year English students of the Faculty of Philology at UP.
Significance of research

My research will contribute in the field of education
