Festivals
The Rose of Saffron Festival is celebrated each year on the last weekend of
October . The fields are a sea of this particular bloom, which is quite a sight !
It is a quaint, folkloric festival where the connection to Don Quixote is strong.
Visitors can also get here a taste of traditional music and dancing from La
Mancha.
The food from Consuegra includes dishes such as migas,
small pieces of bread mixed with chorizo, bacon and ham;
and gachas, snacks made of flour, chorizo and other local
ingredients, like olive oil. Wine and the cheese are quite good
as well

• We want to visit new cultures and meet new people
• We want to help others
• We want to learn English and other languages
What are we doing in Erasmus+ Project?:
• Organise an anti-bully league in our school to promote positive school
climate

• Volunteer for different volunteering organisations

• Make a video interviews of people who almost gave up their studies, but
continued. It’s for encouraging young people not to give up their studies.

• Journeys to other countries to visit our friends in the program

• Host our partners in Erasmus+ program in our town Consuegra

Frank Cuesta.
Francisco Javier Cuesta Ramos, better known as Frank Cuesta, is a Spanish
adventurer, television presenter, tennis coach and animals rights
activist.
For the past 15 years, Frank Cuesta has been fighting illegal animal trafficking and
animal abuse in the southeast Asia.
Nowadays, one of his duties is to prevent the illegal animals dealing.
Malt Order
● The Soberain Military and Hospitalary Order of San Juan of Jerusalem, Rodas and Malta,
more well known as the Order of Malta or Order of Saint John, is a catholic religious order
founded in Jerusalem in the eleventh century by merchants. This Order was born inside the
framework of the Crusades and since the beginning, together with its Hospital activity, it
developed military actions against the muslim armies.

● Today, the Malt Order of Saint John provides some of the leading health service across
Europe and the Middle East including a world class ambulance service in the UK, a rescue
corp in Malta and expert eye care in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. Also, state
of the art ambulances continue to transport people in need across the region. With high
visibility at significant events, St John continues to be a well loved and respected brand
throughout the communities they serve.
Rafa Nadal
Rafael "Rafa" Nadal Parera is a Spanish professional
tennis player who holds the record for the most titles
won at a single tournament.

In 2008 Nadal launched voluntary organization called The Rafa Nadal Foundation to help
socially-disadvantaged youngsters who run the risk of exclusion by society.

The mission of the Rafa Nadal Foundation is to offer sport focused educational programs to the
deprived. The Foundation uses sports as a base for all their actions, because they believe it is a
basic tool for personal and social integration.

The Foundation offers educational programs both in Spain and in India, and also offers university
scholarships.
Red Cross

Spanish Red Cross was founded in 1864 by Nicasio Landa and Joaquín Agulló. The
Headquarters is in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Nowadays, the organitation`s master is
Javier Senent García.
The Motto is “Getting closer and closer to people”.

Their actions try to:


-Encourage volunteerism and participation.
-Teach about awareness and prevention and the promotion of health in its broadest sense:
physical, social, pyschological, enviromental, etc.

What does Cruz Roja do in Consuegra?


Educational activities at the center of Social Mediation. Among them are included: tutoring,
reading, education for health, etc.
Doctors of the world

Doctors of the World, is an international human rights organization that helps the poor
population. They provide emergency and long-term medical care to vulnerable people,
wherever they are. The organization was founded in 1980 with fifteen French doctors.
Nowadays Doctors of the world works in 14 countries. In Spain, it started to work in 1988.

The Doctors of the World network has more than 400 programmes in over 80 countries.
Programmes focus on four priority areas: Conflict and Crisis, Harm Reduction, Maternal and
Child Health, and Migrant Populations.
It works wherever there is a war, natural disasters, diseases, famine, poverty or exclusion.
Manos Unidas
Manos Unidas is the development NGO of the Catholic Church and of volunteers, which
works to support the people of the southern hemisphere in their development and in
the awareness of the Spanish population.Our town Consuegra has an important
activity. The subdelegation of Consuegra depends on the Delegation of Toledo. There
are many volunteers of all ages who collaborate with donations, craft objects for sale,
volunteer work, etc. Its objectives are: To fight against hunger, poor nutrition, poverty,
disease, underdevelopment and lack of education.
CARITAS ESPAÑOLA
The mission of Cáritas Española is to promote the integral
development of people and peoples, especially the
poorest and most excluded. Cáritas develops an
important work of support and social promotion to diverse
social groups in situation of precariedad and / or social
exclusion.
The reception in Cáritas Parroquiales, with more than 5,000 teams of volunteers and volunteers, is
probably the most extensive and close support network for people in situations of exclusion and
vulnerability. They respond to the main demands caused by the crisis (food, housing, access to
employment ...)

Our volunteering duties were collaboration in the "Solidary Bar" that Carritas handles every year on the
occasion of the National Festival of Folklore "Rosa del Azafrán" held in Consuegra. It is about offering
our work to raise funds for those most in need.
