Concept of Dart

• Dart – A cone shape cutout in the pattern, which fits


the fabric over the curves of body and ends at a point
(dart point)
• Dart point – dart point is always away from bust
point/apex
• Dart legs – two equal lines that converge at a
predetermined point on the pattern
• Dart intake – space between two dart legs also called
as dart excess
