AT&T New England to Present $40,000 Donation

to Support Worcester Firefighters
WHAT: AT&T New England on Thursday will present a $40,000 donation to The Leary
Firefighters Foundation, a charitable fund that provides funding and resources to
support local fire departments in their collective effort to provide the communities
they serve with the highest level of public safety.

Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito; Worcester Fire Chief Michael

Lavoie; Worcester City Manager Ed Augustus; and AT&T New England President
Patricia Jacobs will attend Thursday’s check presentation.

AT&T’s donation was used to help the Worcester Fire Department offer its
firefighters access to the O2X training program, a nationally renowned
cardiovascular fitness regimen implemented by elite athletic organizations, first
responders and military personnel across the country.

This donation is part of AT&T’s overarching national commitment to supporting first

responders. In 2017, all 50 states opted into AT&T’s FirstNet network – the nation’s
first interoperable network built exclusively for America’s first responders.
