BACKGROUND: The Main Street Electrical Parade premiered in Disneyland in 1972

and ended its initial run in 1996. In 2001, it returned to Disneyland
as Disney’s Electrical Parade with minor changes, until 2010 when
it was moved to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

NEWS INTEREST: The Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to Disneyland for a
limited time after a 21-year hiatus. The parade’s homecoming
marks its 45th anniversary and will run nightly through Sunday, June
18, 2017.

OPPORTUNITIES: Photo and interview opportunities available. We will have 22 floats,
80 parade performers, and over 600,000 twinkling lights. 27 Disney
characters and seven Disney films will also be portrayed. There will
be families and children of all ages, as well as Disneyland crew
members, enjoying the parade. Additional Disneyland crew
members will be available for interviews by prior request. B-roll and
pool footage will be available for distribution and broadcast with
permission.
