I believe the best example I could give to demonstrate accomplishment of the listed criteria would be
my involvement with the President’s Reception for Donors and Scholars, in which a win-win attitude,
collaboration with others, and enhancement of college operations were essential to my part in making
this multifaceted event a success. This was my second opportunity to work on the planning and
implementation of materials, setup, and photography for the annual President’s Reception.

As a member of the planning team I attended a number of meetings with the Galveston College
Foundation staff, expressing a willingness to help out in whatever capacity was needed. Leading up to
the event I continued to work closely with the GC Foundation staff, guest speakers and our Public
Affairs team to brainstorm ideas and make arrangements, staying overtime to create support materials,
rework the program design and improve the efficiency of distributing the name tags to guests. At the
event, I worked to arrange photos between donors, regents and their respective scholarship recipients,
as well as photos of the food, award presentations and guest speakers.

I feel like everyone that I have had to pleasure to work with thus far at Galveston College has exhibited
the ideals of positive attitude, team spirit and an incredible work ethic, and I am humbled to have been
nominated by such a great group of peers.
