Lab Report Guide

*Handwritten report: Engineering lettering (inclined)

*Use short bond paper with solid border of 1" all sides
*Engineering Lettering Guidelines: 1-3-3
*Writing instrument: uni pin 0.3mm
*Follow the sequence below. Staple the report at the left side (3x). Put masking tape at the back of
staple wires.

1. Front page
- personalized & computerized
- with expt # and title
- with group name
- with score box
2. Data (/Group Report)
- Make sure to answer all the questions and provide all computation details.
- You may use an extra sheet for computation if needed
3. Pictures
- Any that shows you doing the experiment or any that could supplement your report (Set-up,
Calibration, Connection, etc.)
- Always include a group photo (groufie!)
- You may integrate the PICTURES in the ANALYSIS. If you will do this, it's fine not to have a
separate sheet for pictures. But, you may still opt to have a separate sheet if you have many pictures
to include in your report.
4. ANALYSIS
- Discuss the data but do not conclude yet.
- Identify the trends from the obtained data. Explain the relationship of between and/or among these
trends. (refer to figure #, part # - letter, etc)
- Discuss the similarities and differences observed.
- Compare the actual versus the theoretical. Are the results expected?
5. CONCLUSION
- Relate the results to theories and provide generalizations (/conclusions).
- Are the objectives of the experiment met? How?
- Analyze the sources of errors. Suggest alternative methods and/or techniques to get better results.
Cite real-life applications of the theory covered in this experiment.
- Summarize what you've learned from performing the experiment.

Please do away with telling a story on how you performed the experiment. Also, please stop blaming
the tools and equipment for not getting good results. REMEMBER: You are presenting a technical
report.
