Dear Hiring Committee,

I would be a strong candidate for a teaching position at your school. Not only have I recently
studied new and seasoned pedagogies, I have taught through equity at a Title I school in Aurora,
Colorado with students who have varying needs, obstacles, and talents.

I received my teaching license through the prestigious program of Stanley Teacher

Prep/Boettcher Teacher Residency at PEBC and obtained a Master of Arts in Education from
Adams State University with a Cultural and Linguistic Endorsement. Throughout my studies and
first year teaching, I have participated in every opportunity offered by my district to further my
understanding and how I can better help my students and community. I am a member of my
school’s ILT (Instructional Leadership Team) committee, PBnR (Positive Behavior & Resolution
– mix between PBIS and Restorative Justice) committee, and Communications committee. I was
also elected to receive a part-time student intern with a literacy and SEL focus this spring.

One of the greatest assets I will bring to your school is being a dynamic and intentional educator
mixing the joy of learning with ready-to-work mentalities. I believe that in order for students to
learn successfully and develop deep understandings of the material, they must feel comfortable,
wanted, and engaged. Therefore, in my classrooms I generate positivity, movement, and hands-
on learning at all available opportunities.

As I continue to instruct, observe, and reflect, I have found that equitable instruction is a
necessity for my students’ successes as well as my own. My commitment and focus has been to
provide students the necessary support and scaffolds they require to be successful in meeting the
learning targets and goals. I am also passionate about promoting students’ voices within the
classroom so they can become globally-minded citizens with the ability to make a difference. I
find that it is important to pass the conversation to the students to have amongst each other, while
providing minimal support that furthers and enhances each conversation.

Thank you for taking the time to review my resume. I look forward to meeting with you and
discussing my qualifications further to become a strong teacher for your school.

Sincerely,

Sarah N Fitch
