Course 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL Level INTERMEDIATE Objectives - To give students the means to improve their listening, reading, and speaking abilities, as well as to discuss other ways of learning and practicing a foreign language; - Introduce some topics about American Civil Rights Movement and compare with the “Consciência Negra” movement in Brazil. Materials - Essay “Too Little, too late” Kathryn Stockett, in her own words; - Website; - Blog; - Movie. Activities - Reading activity; - After reading activity; - Listening activity (movie); - Speaking activity (group discussion); Procedure - Students read the essay at home; - Then answer the questions about the reading; - Students will see the movie at home; they can watch in groups. - At class students will discuss in groups answering the questions that are in the blog;
