Dear Mrs. Ross,

There is a huge epidemic plaguing this world. In recent years, over 20 million
people have been trafficked. 68% are trafficked for labor, 55% are women and
girls, and 26% are children. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is one of the worst
areas in the nation because of the large changing population during the season
of summer. Just in October of 2017, the FBI and an international force among
Canada, UK, Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippians busted 120 traffickers and
rescued 84 kids in a Myrtle Beach hotel.

Human trafficking has become a huge problem and awareness is needed. The
longer this topic is left unspoken of, the worse it gets. Just in 2016, there
were 78 cases of human trafficking just in South Carolina. 56 of those cases
were sex trafficking, 17 were labor trafficking; two were cased as both, and
three were classified as other or not classified.

Human trafficking gets worse and worse every day. Every year, around 600,000
to 800,000 people are trafficked. This should be put into the school
curriculum to raise awareness throughout the school and with your help we can
achieve this goal. Thank you for your time. Feel free to contact me at
jacobmoulden@g.horrycountyschools.net and we can continue to talk about this.

Sincerely,

Jacob Moulden
