SUMMER RESIDENTIAL

PROGRAMMING MODEL
FROSOCO: SUMMER SESSION 2017
CREATED BY: FROSOCO SRA STAFF & HD

COMMUNITY
Recognize the needs and wants of the
residential community. Work to dismantle
preconceived notions about community culture.
Challenge community to engage and interact.
Students will contribute unique individual
aspects to the community.

EXPLORATION
Students will have opportunities to explore
Palo Alto and San Francisco via
programmatic endeavors. Trips to SF
MOMA, a SF Food Tour, trips to Cinemark
Theater, and more will allow exploration
beyond Stanford and into the Bay Area.

JUSTICE
All programs will be implemented to
achieve inclusive excellence. Acknowledge
needs of diverse student populations
(transfer, commuter, international, etc.) and
intentionally program for these groups to
promote a cohesive community.

ASSESS GOALS
SRA staff will revisit summer goals and
debrief previous programs during staff
meetings and 1:1s. Use house meetings to
establish goals and expectations with
students. Every other week, create a poll of
student interest for upcoming events.

PARTNERSHIPS
Establish strong campus partnership to
enhance the student residential experience.
Examples include BEAM, DGEN, and various
faculty. This will provide students the
opportunity to network and engage with
key Stanford players.

SMALL WINS
SRA staff will create a welcoming
programmatic culture. SRAs will make all
programs accessible, and move past
discouraging turnout. But SRAs will always
work in a continuous improvement
framework.
