1. Outline the administrative and legislative framework of the federalist

character of the Federated Malay States and discuss whether it had significant
influence on the federal framework in the Federation of Malaya Agreement 1948.

2. Evaluate the federal characteristics in the Federation of Malaya Agreement

1948 and compare them with that of the Federation of Malaya Agreement of
1957.

3. Outline and events that lead to the inclusion of Sabah and Sarawak into the
Federation of Malaysia 1963 and evaluate the justifications to grant special
treatments to the two states.

4. Discuss the various types and characteristics of federalism and hypothesize

which type of federalism that Malaysia belongs to.
