Ask questions to determine the differences between renewable/sustainable energy resources
(examples: hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, tidal, biomass) an d nonrenewable energy resources
(examples: nuclear: uranium, fossil fuels: oil, coal, and natural gas), and how they are used in our
everyday lives.

Description of how to implement in the class: Productivity tools can have a huge range of
implementation in science and math. Students will use spreadsheets to record data we collected and
generate graphs of the data, and presentation software such as Prezi, PowerPoint and Sway toshare
their findings and conclusions.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): Most of these would be around level 2. Productivity
Tools were designed to substitute for traditional processes to make things easier and, as such,
achieve low LoTi Levels themselves. The LoTi level could be higher if used in conjunction with other
activities or software.
Description of the sample Sway activity used with your students: Students will pick a resource
from a list and answer a series of guided questions about their resource in a word document. They
will use these questions to determine if their resource is a renewable or nonrenewable resource and
then create a sway from their document to share their ideas with the class.
Other comments about using productivity tools in your classroom: sway is so much easier and
faster than powerpoint. I want to use it all the time for collaborative learning activities.
