INTRODUCTION
Petroleum geology is the study of origin, occurrence, movement, accumulation, and
exploration of hydrocarbon fuels. It refers to the specific set of geological disciplines that are
applied to the search for hydrocarbons (oil exploration).Petroleum geology is used in the
exploration process to locate and analyse source rocks and any hydrocarbon-rich fluids that have
been generated. This course enables the participants to know about source basic fundamental of
petroleum geologyand its correlation to petroleum system.

FRAMEWORK
American Association of Petroleum Geologist UniversitasPadjadjaran Student Chapter
(AAPG Unpad SC) are planning to conduct Course about “Petroleum Geologist Day : Overview of
Petroleum Geologist Role in Oil and Gas Industry’’. This Activity will be held on Saturday 09.00

WORKSHOP GOAL
The goals from this activity is :

1. The participants can determine a petroleum system and its components

2. Participant can understand about the basic of Petroleum Geologist
3. Participant can understand how petroleum Geologist work at the Field
4. Participant can understand how petroleum system work with operation geologist
5. Participant can undertand each job from each occupation
TIME & PLACE
We will arrange this workshop on Saturday, February17th 2018. This workshop will be held at
Building 1 Faculty of Geological Engineering, University of Padjadjaran, Jatinangor.

PARTICIPANTS
First year students who want to enrich or imply their knowledge about Petroleum
Geology in oil and gas industry and second year students who haven’t heard about petroleum
Geology.
This workshop is opened for 40 participants from AAPG SC Unpad Members and Faculty
of Geological Engineering Padjadjaran University Students.
FEES
27.ooo idr for non members and 25.000 idr for members
