Bohr Practice atoms

Directions:

1. Determine the element and the mass that you are being asked to draw. Write it.
2. Make your PNE table (determine the #protons, #neutrons, #electrons).
3. Put the #protons and #neutrons in the nucleus (e.g. P8, N8, for oxygen-16, below).
4. Draw and fill the orbitals with electrons – remember the first orbital can only hold
up to 2 electrons, the second can hold up to 8 electrons, the third can hold up to 8
electrons!

Example: Draw the Bohr model for oxygen-16.

 Oxygen is atomic #8, s… Oxygen-16

 P- 8 (= atomic#)
 N- 8 (=16-8 or the mass# - #protons)
 E- 8 (= # protons)

Draw the Bohr models for the following atoms: sodium-23, lithium-6, boron-11 and
aluminum-27. Use the PNE tables and nuclei provided.
