This train has fifteen General Second class coaches and two luggage cars. Coaches
can be increased or decreased to meet demand.
Service
The 12597 Gorakhpur Junction - Mumbai CST Jan Sadharan Express covers the distance
of 1,693 km (1,052 mi) in 27 hours 45 mins (61 km/hr) & in 28 hours 15 mins as the
12598 Mumbai CST - Gorakhpur Junction Jan Sadharan Express (60 km/hr).
As the average speed of the train is lower than 55 km/h (34 mph), as per railway
rules, its fare doesn't includes a Superfast surcharge due to unreserved coaches.
Traction
It is hauled by a Lucknow based WDM 3A from Gorakhpur until Jhansi after which a
Bhusaval based WAP 4 hauls the train for the remainder of its journey until Mumbai
CST.
Routeing
This train runs via Basti, Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Jhansi, Itarsi,
Bhusaval, Nasik, Kalyan to reach Mumbai CST and vice versa.
