CINEMA / PRINTING

In this document we will see the difference in writing for cinema and for printing, knowing
that one of the two must be based on a general theme and a more specific idea that helps us
develop all the rest and does not allow us to deviate from the objective.
Qualities of writing a cinematographic script:
Always part of an initial idea, which is what will drive the writer to start writing the script.
This idea can come from a story that happened to the main character, from an event or
experience, an image, a scenario, a topic of interest or simply from the writer's own
experience.
Then we define what the story is going to be and, in the process, we choose the main
character that will be involved in all the conflicts in the story. Not only is it chosen but a
separate detailed profile is made to be considered when facing a situation that confronts it.
The place of all the facts and the time is defined; the gender and the tone of presentation.
It is used apart from the definition of theme and idea, a logline, which is to write in two or
three paragraphs our history and this will serve as a guide when writing the story, since it will
not allow us to deviate.
We went on to describe the plot synopsis of history, that is, to specify the actions that make
up the whole story. You can use the linear structure of Syd field. Any structure serves us as
long as we complete a page of the argument without going into details.
We went to write the argument in scenes. A scene is determined by actions that take place in
the same space and in a continuous time within it. To the list of scenes composed by the
actions already mentioned, they are called "Runway" (Escaleta).
Already in the runway, we can define what structure we are going to use to tell our story, we
define an order that is more appropriate to tell our story.
A literary script is then developed, which is what will provide all the elements of scenes in
detail. We must bear in mind that the narration must be visual, that is to say, everything that
we are going to narrate in this literal script, can be expressed visually or audibly.
