Additionally, she has been a vital teacher’s aid in my art classes for two years and is an active member of our creative in the studio. | first met Kayla as a sophomore in my intermediate art class among mixed grade levels. Kayla adapted to an active role in the studio by starting out with the basic assigned projects and evolving them into expansive artworks filled with a personal culture. She would take the given concepts and constraints in each lesson and throw her own spin on them after quiet discussion with her peers and 1. Her curiosity in composition and willingness to work through a project is evident in the quality of work that she has produced. She has no problem making the work her own, while al the same time, assisting and communicating with those around her in a collaborative environment. She showed he dedication to her work by having one of the top two scoring portfolios in my AP Studio Art class with a collection o sharply observed paintings of cacti and succulent plants done with flash photography references. Perhaps Kayla’s most defined personality characteristics is her pragmatism and introspection. She has a willingness to apply herself to challenging environments and cut to the essence of “what needs doing”. Her focused (and perfect academics dealing with health sciences would add much to a medical learning environment. While working with me she has demonstrated holistic attention to the overall reason of working without getting lost in details or inefficiencies, Whatever her future focus, I was very pleased to have her cheerful grit and sense of purpose in my classroom.
