The purpose of this project was to be able to create an experiment related to a topic in our

chemistry class that would be able to prove our hypothesis. When first introduced to the project I

was honestly scared since I knew it would affect my grade. My main goal was to obviously get a

good/high score on it and have reliable facts that could impress the teacher as well as the class.

Throughout the project several decisions had to be taken. The first decision was to be

able to formulate a hypothesis and agree on it within the group. Then we were to agree on who

would bring the materials and what job were we going to do. The steps taken was to first gather

all materials and bring them to çlass. We then decided to perform the experiment according to

what we had written in the procedure.

In the project I learned several things projectwise and about myself. What I was able to

learn about the project was how to be able to work with the group as well as learning what a

catalyst was. I learned how to create an experiment as well. What I learned about myself was that

I needed to learn to feel more confident to talk in front of people without being nervous. This

was something I know that I need to improve on for future times. Something I think I did good at

was being able to cooperate with my group to be able to finish the project. I was proud of myself

for being able to finish on time.

In this project our group were able to use some of our global competencies. For example

we investigated the world by discovering a major event going on all around the world that can
destroy our future lives. We were able to communicate ideas by finding a way to present this

topic in the most accurate way possible to share our personal thoughts on this topic. Finally, we

were able to recognize and weigh perspectives by comparing our partner’s thoughts and coming

to one's own conclusion after reviewing the different aspects from different sources.
