Hazel: Ever since I started at this school I have been

sits behind me has been teasing me and throwing paper
airplanes at me.

Hazel begins to cry.

Mr. Smith: I am so sorry to hear this Hazel, but I am glad

that you brought this to my attention. I will address it right
away.
Hazel: puts her hands on her stomach as if she feels sick

Butterflies: enter in a ballerina tip toe

Hazel appears panicked

Hazel: But Mr. Smith, what if I get picked on for telling?

Mr. Smith: That is a good question, Hazel. You see,
sometimes bullies are not as tough as they may seem. They
are usually hurting on the inside themselves, and making
fun of others is their way of expressing their own hurt
feelings. You did the right thing by telling me. Now, I can
watch them more closely and also help them to understand
that this type of behavior is not allowed.

Hazel: (Sigh of relief) Thanks, Mr. Smith, I feel a lot

better.

behind you… You know…

Hazel: Oh, yes I do know. (Hazel firmly replies)

End of Act 9
Act 10/Page 12, 13 & 14

Helga’s apology. Dog and Cat observe. Optional: add a

you. Can you please take the spell off of me? I promise to
be nicer to you.

Hazel: (looks puzzled) Helga, I never put a spell on you.

Helga: (Begins to cry) Hazel, I have a confession to

make, I am new to the school too. In my old school, all the
kids would make fun of me because I am so much taller
than the kids my age. I was worried that I would not fit in
here so I picked on you so no one would notice me. I am
so sorry that I hurt your feelings, Hazel.

Hazel: (Hazel smiles) I understand Helga. I forgive you.

Helga Transforms back to her original character.

Narrator: At that very moment, Helga began to slowly
transform from a slimy green toad into a beautiful you girl.
(Helga reappears)

Helga: Thank you, Hazel, you took the spell off of me!

Hazel: Helga I told you, I didn’t put a spell on you. You

put a spell on yourself by being so mean.

Helga: (Frowning) I know. I feel so bad for treating you

that way.

Hazel: Don’t worry Helga, you are not the only one who
learned a lesson today.

Helga: (Helga asks eagerly) You learned something too?

Hazel: Yes Helga, I learned that being a bully doesn’t

make you look good.

Helga: Or feel good.

The girls laugh together.

Helga: Hazel, would you like to walk to school with me

today.

Hazel: Sure, I would love to, Helga.

school.

Helga: Hazel, can I ask you a question?

Hazel: Yes, Helga.

Helga: Why do you dress so different?

Hazel: Well, Helga, that’s a whole other story.
