Teaching Philosophy

As a teacher I would first recognize how great and gratifying teaching is. Through my
short but revealing time as an Icpna teacher, I could certainly say that I love what I do.
Also, I could noticed how students feel motivated and eager to learn since the very first
day of class.
I personally believe that what students need is to have a full speaking interaction class
in where the teacher will play the role of a facilitator as the students will be able to
speak freely building English fluency. Moreover, there are several ways in which such
things can be accomplished in a daily basis classroom environment. Techniques where
students from all levels and backgrounds are able to interact to one another in order to
obtain the desired English fluency are common nowadays. Particularly, a technique
called Strategic interacting method will even engage shy students. Having a class
where students are engaged takes a lot of one's effort, but it gives great results at the
end. My personal effort is put on this interactive technique throughout my teaching and
it is rewarding. Also, I believe Students will feel more at easy performing this technique
because some students are good at role playing whereas other are good at filtering
output during class discussions, it also embraces student to student questions,
correction techniques, as well as paraphrasing and summarizing.
Basically, teaching means a lot to me. Ever since teaching at Icpna, I was able to
realize that teaching is in a constant change that benefits students’ abilities to produce
the target language in easier ways. As I stated previously, I always have my classes in
a constant communicative environment even though some students may find this
challenging and somehow scary (shy students). What I will intent to continue is to
embrace the technique mentioned previously or implement innovative techniques for
students’ own sake.
All in all, I am more than gratified with the work I have been doing as an English teacher
so far. Though I’ve committed mistakes in the past, I will continue to keep on the hard
work as my future years as an Icpna teacher continue its course.
