Appoggiatura: normally occurs in the top part on the strong beat

Pedal point: Flat seventh going into a VII42 chord
Discords: 2nd 4th 7ths are discords above the bass
If there are discords they are only acceptable as either a passing note, suspension,
appoggiatura or a pedal point.
V7d, inversion of a dominant 7th with the root at the top is the most common, irregular 4th
above the bass
VII7, good for a 6th scale degree in the melody for giving a dominant feel. Can use in any
inversion
Aug 6th: Useful chord BUT the bass note has to be the flattened 6 th of the key that you are in
Gluck chord: Used from ii-V
