Welcome to University Toastmasters Club!

The University Toastmasters Club provides a safe and positive atmosphere to


improve communication skills in order to bring out the innate speaker within you.
Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone!

We meet every Wednesday in ECHA 2-150 from 6:00-7:30PM

meeting feels welcome and valued - from complete beginners to advanced speakers.

These are specifically aimed at self-motivated people who want to


improve their language skills in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
They offer a more flexible alternative to a language class and the
chance to decide what and how you want to learn. Each club is
facilitated by a native or fluent-speaker of the language and offers
small group activities to help you develop your speaking, listening
and reading skills in your chosen language.

English Speaking Club


(ESC) Program
So if you are looking for a new language learning experience,
join a club!
 Small group learning (each club will have a membership of max 8-10
people)
 Native or near-native speaker facilitators with experience of language
teaching
 The opportunity to choose, as a group, what activities you would like to
do each week
 A more sociable way to practise your language skills
 It's a social, fun and relaxed setting where everyone is encouraged
to talk, share their experiences, practice their speaking, develop
confidence to talk in public and successfully interact with others.
Why join?
You’ll meet new people and make new friends while you practise
your English and become a more confident communicator. Weekly
ESC sessions aim to prepare you for presentations, practise
valuable interview skills, understand how to apply communication
strategies to team environments and enables you to discover how to
network effectively.

As a bonus, undergraduate students get 10 GLP points for


participation if they attend 10 ESC sessions across all weeks.
Postgraduate students are welcome to attend, but not eligible for
GLP points.
