Objective/Purpose: At the end of this lesson students will be able to describe whole
shapes as fractions.
Input (What information is essential for the student to know before beginning and how will this skill be
communicated to students?): Students need to know what shapes and fractions are.
Model How will you be demonstrating the skill or competence? I will do a warm up where the students
will have to identify shapes and fractions
Guided Practice (List activities which will be used to guide student practice and provide a time frame for
completing this practice.) A worksheet where they will have to match equal parts vs not equal
parts. 5min. Pattern block activity.
