Thai Recycled Costume Essay 1104
The traditional Thai clothing is a symbol of Thailand in which Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit
studies the traditional Thai cloth in various periods which later her discovery is well known throughout
Thailand. The Thai royal dress composed of eight sets. Moreover, Thai flag is considered as the
characteristic of Thainess which can be used as a set that make Thailand become more distinctive.
With this intention, we, the students of 1104 proudly present our Thai applied clothing which is
consists of Thai Chakree Clothing and Thai applied clothing modified from recycled materials and
parallelly symbolizes the Thai flag. Our Thai costume will be presented in a form of a strapless dress with
a cover and jewelries. There will be many colours on the clothing which shows our country welcoming
culture. Our clothing wants to represents Thais friendliness in which there is a phrase “Thailand the land
of smiles.” On the edge of the strapless dress will have red stripes made out of snacks bag in which the red
colour represents nation. The cover will be made out of white plastic bag in which the white colour
represent Buddhism. The jewelries will be made out of sparkling water cans cut into equal loop and fold
the edge neatly; then wrapped up with a clear tape to protect the sharpness of the can. We sprayed the
jewelry with gold glisters. Gold is the colour of success and luck which reflect the abundance of the
natural resource in Thailand as their is a phrase in Thai “Golden Field”.
The Thai Royal dress represent the Thailand culture, tradition, nationality and Thai uniqueness
which can be expressed and conveyed out clearly. It can be noticeable at first glance that this is Thai
costumes. Making the Thai royal dress by using the recycle material and expressed its Thainess is required
a concept and high contemplate. We 1104 student work hard in designing the Thai royal dress in order to
inherit Thai traditions and support Thai culture in the next future.
