Incorrect installation, operation, maint nance or parts replacement can result in injury to personnel, and damage to the turbine, driven machinery, and plant. ‘This manual contains instructions for installation, operation and maintenance of your Dresser-Rand single stage steam turbine. It has been designed to operate to the specifications and parameters outlined on the Turbine Data Sheets located in this manual. These instructions are intended for per- ‘sonnel with @ general training in operations and maintenance of steam turbines. ‘The manual describes the standard horizontal governor valve, ring oiled and pressure lubricated turbine, with constant speed governors. Appendix A includes all engineering outline, sectional, system and parts list drawings; and Appendix B provides installation and maintenance information ‘on vendor equipment and accessories purchased with the turbine, ‘After the turbine has been received, it must be adequately protected during periods of storage. ‘When it is ready for use, the following recommendations should be seriously considered to ensure proper performance and extended life of the turbine: ‘© The unit should be properly installed — Instructions are provided in Section II. «© The unit should be properly adjusted and maintained on a scheduled basis — Instructions aro provided in Section V.
