Autopsy is an important procedure to detecting cause of death in child
unnatural death cases. This study aims to describe the profile of child autopsy in Riau Province period 2010-2014. Data was obtained from medicolegal autopsy reports that belongs to Riau Regional Police on Medicine and Health. There were 15 child medicolegal autopsies recorded between 2010 and 2014 with boy (66,7%) aged 0 to 5 years old (46,7%) were dominant victims. There is no different on type of wound between incised wound, bruise, abrasion, and laceration (20%). Most wound localized on neck which found (40%) and followed by head (33,3%). Most type of violence were uncategorized which found in 7 victims (46,7%). The leading cause of death were uncategorized which found in 5 victims (33,3%). The most frequent mechanism of death were unidentified which found in 7 victims (46,7%). All of cases were unnatural death (100%) cases and homicide as the most manner of death (60%). Our study found that medicolegal autopsies report frequently requested by Police sector outside Pekanbaru (100%).
