Objective/Purpose :
By the end of this lesson students construct the idea that plants and
animals are similar to their parents but different, by comparing and
contrasting living things.
The objective is important for students to learn because it important to
understand the importance genetics and heredity for family history and
knowing difference in what is related or not.

Input :What plants and animals are some ability to read, compare and contrast,
able to write.

Model: Inside Versus Outside Traits Self Project

Guided Practice :Group compare and contrast images, group lesson, and
definitions Youtube.
Check for Understanding: Group interaction and discussion of traits.

Closure: Class Quiz over what they have learn about genetics.

Independent Practice :Inside Versus Outside Traits Self Project- The students
after the group lesson with draw a picture of themselves and on one side do
inside traits (funny, sweet, smart), and on the other side do outside traits (hair,
eyes, nose). This will help illustrate that the children are similar to their parents
and yet uniquely different.

Materials: printer paper, markers, yarn, glue on eyes, glue, pencils, colored paper,
or anything students want to use to illustrate themselves.
