Teaching Multiplication Using Explain Everything

● I can show how whole numbers can be grouped to find a product

● I can organize the steps of grouping effectively

● I can prepare a video to help classmates learn how to group

As a teacher it is my job to make sure you learn how to group numbers

to find a product. This week I would like you to create an Explain
Everything that shows the correct steps that should be taken for
grouping in multiplication. You need to make sure you include how to
group to find a product,and definitions that will be helpful for
learning this technique.

Helpful Checklist to Follow:

Pick an equation to solve (ex. 9X6)

Explain what each number in the equation does (ex. the times sign is “groups of”)

All three parts are explained

Draw the circles and dots to show how many groups and how many
dots in each group (ex. 9 circles, 6 dots in each circle)

Use repeated addition to find the product (ex. 6,12,18…..)
