1. FFXIV Fatigue System, for Dummies.

------------------------------------------------------------
Plain and simple guide to Final Fantasy XIV :: Fatigue System
After 8 hours of bashing mobs / completing guildelves, you'll become aware that your rate of
experience growth drops.

But these effects are greatly visable after the 8 hour marker during your gaming playtime. Don't
stop now you can keep leveling up till 15 hours per week on your PHYSICAL JOB EXPERIENCE,
think of it like, a Vertical Bar.

All the Class of Jobs you can -choose- to play as, are a Horizontal bar. Image this....

We got our Warriors

Gladiator, Marauder, Lancer, Pugilist, Archer

Not to forget, our Magic Slingers' of Life & Mass Elemental Destruction
That-thar-mage(LOL), Conjurer

"Heave Ho" the laborers are here, three mo' of thee Land
Miner, Botanist, Fisherman

Money is the plan, then you got to use those -Hands-

Armorer, Alchemist, Blacksmith, Carpenter, Culinary, Goldsmith, Tanner, Weaver

So that is "16 Job Classes", all with their own 15 hours of Experience To Level as well, during
that WEEK alone too.

Prime Example::
Vision a table with a few empty cups infront of you, lable some tape around each cup and write
out the jobs you are interested in playing in Final Fantasy XIV

Say you like Lancer, Archer, Alchemist? But your mind is dead-set on being the Best Archer you
can be... that is the REAL you in your Gaming MMO hobbie recreational mindset.

So you've now starting playing your Archer, 15 hours of that job class flies by like nothing maybe
in a single day or two or four days. The weekend is upon you for some hardcore grinding? But,
you can't level up your pride and joy anymore.

So your Physical Job can't get experience and your Archer Class can't get any stronger either?
They need some R&R now. It resets every 144hours, (That's one week if you don't know math.)

So if your gonna play this game, start marking it on the Calender.

SE has yet to say if there is a universal set:: Reset Week for Physical Job Class Fatigues. But,
every individual Job Class can play its own 15 hours each.

You've just poured 15 hours into Archer, it stops gaining experience. Well, guess what? Time to
start working on those other Job Classes, too support your overall End-Game Timesink Dream.
Play the game, or hate the game is up to you. No matter what, people will pay too play this
regardless of your opinion or mine. Life goes on in MMO's and this one is no exception the
second it goes live.

1a) But SquareEnix left out one important fact of the Fatigue System.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Armor Repair System was made to anchor and strand a greater Time Sink onto you, the
player. To pay for armor, you need to go out and earn some "Gil" the currency of Final Fantasy
XIV to level up more cost effectively.

Final Fantasy 14, was designed behind the Circle of Life "Theme" in Armors Value

Say you need more Arrows and your Quiver is empty for Unleashing your Onslaught of Pwnage
for your Archer Job Class?

Sure you can just buy the cheap 3 gil arrows in batches of say.....?
99 Arrows in a Stack, so that is 297 Gil.

Performance in Game Damage Per Second is what you pay or work(grind) for so stop your
complaining and crying and go earn some "Money" for some powerful "Bronze" "Silver" "Gold"
"Mythril" Arrows to be released in later patches? That is what's gonna cost you in the end.

You need to make Fletchings.... "Weaver Job Class"

Got to be able to craft a Bow / Arrow Wood... "Carpenter Job Class"
Don't forget... without a good string, you can't pull it to provide the pain, "Weaver Job Class"
Last but not least... Blacksmith / Goldsmith too craft your Arrow Heads based on the Ores.

Where do you get materials, I've told you this much, I'm sure you realized its:
Miner ( Ores & Metals ), Botanist ( Wood / Herbs / Hemp )

So SquareEnix basically added 15hrs x 4 = 60hours of gameplay to ensure you stay in character,
in role, and get Time-Sunk into the game to forget your normal day life.

Introvert-minded yet speaking how it is. This is the truth behind Final Fantasy XIV, so enjoy.

1b) Grind if you want to succeed.

It is the key to all MMOs on the Market, in Final Fantasy XIV is no exception to this rule.

You can always grind out MONEY, it seems.

More money, more friends online, we know its a for-sure time sink... but either do it, or quit the
game or find something else in your life not video-game related or pay a RMT to hand it to you
illegally.
Either way, its not my job to slap your wrist for how you play the game as a hobbies. I'll let you
choose your own path. While I personally don't endorse RMT, but you know the difference
between hardcore gamers/casual its Money need to stay with their friends in a digital lifestyle, so
its obviously plain and simple like that.

"It is what it is"

2.Guildleves
*************************
What are Guildleves?
*************************
Just like in the CGI Introduction that got released with the game, you see a Bunch of Cards on a
table with "Color Artistic Glass", that is a "Guildleves".

To put it short and sweet, "A Simple Quest on chooses which can you optionally par-take to earn
one of the few things together."

They can vary and range from finding a Quest NPC, and crafting a item next to them.
Or go kill some "Baddies" and hack/slash/nuke/cure you way to victory
Hack at a Mining Point / Fish at a Pond or Undergrand Lake / Chop some Woods

Final Fantasy Fan Flare when complete!

Go back?
HP&MP Restored
Or stay there and do whatever you like.

In each adventure guild per each major city, talk to a Quest NPC.

Crafting Guildleves are a little more confusing though for the beginners out there.
These are started by Talking to the appropriate NPC with the Proper Equipment Job Class.
So make sure you have the correct "Weapon On First"

Select Synth by that NPC

Then in menu, that appears to your Top Left

Select the Very Top Option above the 8 Empty Blank Options.

A new window pops up with your Guildleves Quest, select the appropriate quest was was the
exact one related to that NPC with your materials.

She gives you all your crafting material "FREE", it'll just appear there.
Just keep going with the flow and remember these indgredients that appear too if you think you
might be crafting these later on to get more "Skill Ups" (Not really cost effective).

When you take any "Attempt to Craft" the item this is how you level crafting classes.
Experience is Gained regardless of Success or Failure but we all want Success right?

These quests are optional, you can only partake on a set amount per 24hr-48hr period.
Yet again, Square Enix has yet explained the delay on this.

Most likely, your allowed to take a Maximum of 16 Guildleves per every 24hr/48hr?

Rumor also is the timer resets at 7PM Pacific Daytime

You can choose::
4 Battle-types Guildeves
4 Gathering Guildevs
8 Crafting Guildleves

1. Experience at the End (And a few easy mobs to kill for fast EXP)
2. Gil (As you get farther away from each town, your level should be higher, so the amount is
higher as well for the task completed.)
3. Sometimes you get some Equipment/Weapon/Items for Crafting
4. Later on, probally some new Currency system / Reward Achievements.

They each got 5 difficulties ranked by Stars

Solo - Not worth the option until your in the Rank 20 to 50 Physical Job level

Band - You can do it, if you can't call pizza hut, cause you ain't cut out for t his *$#&!!

Party - Feeling lonely, socialize and ask for help... or answer someone plea of difficulty.

Guild - "Fear not, Guildworks.com will try to capitalize on all FFXI/FFXIV losers" -Stanislav
(Not to mention Mr.Argus vs2 for the Excellence LS)

Legion - When did Final Fantasy 14 require Zerging?, where is this Zerg Option, I'm still finding it?

2a)
Your Retainer is vital as a BANK for spare items It holds 80 spare inventory slots Follow the
dialogue ingame or pick one randomly Name it "Whatever you like" everyone will have the same
models for retainers regardless of what you pick. Nothing really personally stands out so don't
get your hopes up to customize them.

Maybe SquareEnix will change this to reflect your personal appearce remotely?

2b)
Its your Bazaar for you remotely so you'll need to take some time and effort to learn how to
manage it appropriately too sell your items while inside the map called "Market Ward"

You need to go there yourself, in your menu "Summon Retainer" will pop up if your in the RIGHT
MAP VICINITY.

Trade whatever items you want to have it hold/sell for you. If your selling stuff, enter the
ammount, press enter. Its not my fault if you sell something for nothing, figure it out.
3.Crafting
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simple Crafting Cheat Sheet
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Watch the little Particle Ball, whatever you select will either pass or fail based on your "Job Class
Level" of your trade. As you accomplish more successfu l attempts It becomes easier to succeed
with any crafting attempts.

Here are the Four Options appear

-------------------------------------------------
Standard Synth
Rapid Synth
Bold Synth
Wait

As a novice, here is a cheat sheet. (( Not these can fail still based on your l evel regardless but
I've noticed, success in non-stanard methods not published yet ))

When you see a "Pure White Ball", anything is good but it still can faill using the following.

Standard I don't recomend standard unless its

-FLASHING RANDOM COLORS- *HINT*

Rapid Best option to level up Experience / Job Experince for First Attempt

Bold Your attempting to start a HQ item synth (Not good for Beginners)

Wait (Just reshuffles a random Color to React/Lowers Durability)

You press Wait -1,
You press Wait again -2,
Wait again -3 more,
Wait again -4.... and so On

When you see a "Pure Red Ball"

Standard Option has a 80 to 60% Success rate with hardly no Durability Loss
Do not hit, BOLD or RAPID, you will FAIL and lose a lot of Durability.

When you see a "Pure Yellow Ball"

BOLD for the GOLD, I notice it has a 10-20% Failure Rate but you lose hardly no
Durability if it succeeds. Basically its a free roll and upgrade the Quality

When you see a "Flashing Random All Color Ball" is a little tricky

Standard has a 60% Success Rate with moderate durability loss if successful
Standard can yet Fail too, it also has a 40% Failure Rate with slightly higher then
moderate durability lost.

Rapid also has a 60% Success Rate with minimum durability loss if successful
Rapid has a 40% Failure Rate with minor durability loss if unsuccessful.

BOLD isn't a Option, unless your in that 5% Chance Percentile of Success,

Expect 20-50 Durability Loss on your failure as well for trying.
4. Why I made this on Scribd?
--------------------------------------------

I was bored and got tired of seeing all these websites right before September 22, 2010 launch
day.

Will I make another guide?

A: Most likely not, but maybe.

Will I explain more later on or other guides?

A: Maybe, as I play the game more myself.
