We sur jur fourth and fifth graders traveled to Oahu for a Say learning trip, Our Journey began at Pear]
Harbor where we went te Arizona Memorial to pay our respects and gain a deeper
understanding of the fatafial morning of the Pearl Harbor attack and our entry ito
World War IL Our next stop was tha Pacitic Aviation where the kids vere captivated by
Planes ranging trom cargo planes to bombers and fighter jets
filght simulators and a STEM activity forused on the center of gravity. Our first evening
‘with a yummy dinner prepared by our own Alan Matsumoto, a might swim
a Journey through different cultures during our vistt to the Honotura
‘Museum of Art. Ask your chuid how to draw a human portratt or what the “vanishing
point" is, We were also able to participate in service learning during our trip to Paspas

Students got to contribute to this restoration by removing mvasive mangrove seeds
from the sea wall, Our second evening involved more delicious food, pool time, and a fun
gathering featuring Mr. Pike's storytelling shenanigans, student skits, and of course
ded a 8:D experlence into the evolution of flight as students vratched Dream to Py in Windward Community
College's Planetarium. a forty foot multimedia dame. The fun continued in the Aerospace Lab where students were
engaged through play with a vast number of science-based toys. Our learning journey ended at the Honolulu Zoo where
stu by o variation of exotic animals. They alsa experienced the :
