There is a large playground for the children in our neighbourhood. Unfortunately, it is

not well-maintained. The grass has not been cut for some time and the drains are clogged.
The committee has decided to carry out a gotong-royong to clean up the playground.
Besides this, the public telephones in our area are always out of order too. Some do not
even have receivers. The committee wants the authorities to replace these telephones. We
also want to move some of these telephone booths nearer the community hall, where there
is a security guard. The toilets in the community hall are always dirty and smelly. The
committee wants to employ cleaners to clean the toilets regularly. There is also heavy traffic
in this housing estate. Motorists speed along these roads. The committee is going to ask the
authorities to build speed humps on the roads.
