Ref:- Board’s letter No. 2013/TK-I1/22/19/1 (Specification) dt. 23.05.2016 1.0 Railway Board vide letter under reference had approved the regular adoption of composite sleepers on IR and also stipulated the proliferation methodology over IR for composite sleepers. 2.0 In order to indigenize the manufacturing of composite sleepers, the financial interest of IR, through consolidation of requirement, the competent authority with the concurrence of Finance, has decided to go for centralized procurement of composite sleepers through global open tender. Accordingly, Board has decided that the piecemeal procurement of composite sleepers, currently being done by Zonal Railways as per above policy, shall henceforth be discontinued. 3.0 Zonal Railways are therefore directed not to open any further tender for procurement of composite sleepers after 20-02-2017. \ ote 4"! ke nod K.
