Dear Mr Alburger,

For my paper, I will be choosing to write about veterinary practice. I have chosen this because I
have to wanted to be a vet since I was a child. I have always wanted to work with animals and be
able to help them. I would like to learn what they do on a regular day and if this is something I
would actually want to pursue later in life.

I am planning on writing about topics that include the day to day life, the history of veterinary
practice, how to become a vet and other smaller topics. I am interested to find out how veterinary
practice has changed over time and how much medicine for animals has improved. I would really
like to learn about the education required to become a vet.

I would like my mentor to be my dog’s vet, Dr. Phinke. She is very nice and I think she is a
feasible option for me to shadow. I would like to shadow her and see what they do on a daily
basis. For my project I am thinking about doing some kind of check up on my own pet like they
do in the vet for a checkup or something related to that.

I have read Pine Lake’s ethics guide and understand that plagiarism, either intentional or
unintentional, will result in a zero on my paper.
