a. Charades: Have a student come to the front of the class and
show a flashcard or whisper a word to that student. The student then acts out that word to the rest of the class and the first student to guess what it is can be the next player. This works very well with action verbs.
b. Pictionary: Good for reviewing vocab. Pick a student and show
him/her a flashcard picture or whisper a word into his/her ear. The student draws the picture on the board and the first student in the class to guess the picture gets to draw the next picture.
c. Memory Tester: Place a selection of flash cards on the floor in a
circle. Students have one minute to memorise the cards. In groups, they have two minutes to write as many of the names as they can remember.
d. Jump On It: Spread out flashcards on the floor and have Ss
stand at one end of the room. Shout out a card and the Ss have to find the card and jump on it. The first S to do this wins a point.
