Ladies and gentlemen, members of the panel, fellow speakers of the opposing team,

good afternoon.

My name is ------------and in this debate, we, in this team firmly believes that it is high
time that we re-impose death penalty in the Philippines Judicial system.

As the 1st speaker, I will be talking about the necessity of the re-imposition of death
penalty. Our second speaker will be the one to enlighten you as to why it is beneficial
and desirable to re-impose death penalty and finally the third speaker will tell you more
about the practicability of the proposition.

The constitutional abolition of the death penalty, enshrined I Article 3 Sec 19, which
immediately took effect upon ratification of this Constitution, does not prevent the
legislation from re-imposing it at some future time.

But for the last decades, death penalty has been revived on and off under different
governance. But is there really a need to re-impose the Death Penalty?

This house firmly believes that it is highly necessary to re-impose the Death Penalty in
the Philippines Judicial system for various reasons. First, it deters would-be criminals to
commit felonies. Second, it is a means to distinguish the degree of severity of crimes.
And lastly, it is means to adhere to public clamor to protect their right to live to a safe
society.
