Making groups work I & II George Brown College, Toronto 2017
This workshop was about group working as a learning strategy in college teaching environment. Firstly,
it was about why group working is so important. Also, it was about the stages of group developing.
College teachers should get familiarity with the way a group works and various stages of a group
developing in order to be able to conduct their students while they are doing group work.
This workshop was based on a general plan to make George Brown College a healthy environment in
terms of mental health. College teachers should be aware of signs of mental health challenges in
students. If a college teacher finds out that one of students might have a problem, it is better to approach
the student to talk and to open a discussion with regard to the issue. The teacher can advise the student to
consult with professional consultant at the campus.
