To whom it may concern,

For my Pride Paper, I will be learning about a physician assistant. I chose this career because it
involves both chemistry and anatomy, and involves a small amount of schooling for a large
salary. The focus of the paper would be about their history, daily life, role in providing health
care, and the education required to become a physician assistant. Some useful sources include
information of the growing population of physician assistants in other countries like Great
Britain, while other sources provide information on the role of physician assistants in the army.

I would organize my paper by first beginning to talk about the creation and history of physician
assistants due to physician shortage. Next, I would mention the education required with the best
colleges to pursue with the common courses and majors to take in college. Then I would use a
few sources to explain the daily life of a physician assistant and their role in health care. I would
furthermore explain the many specialties and areas of work for a physician assistant. Finally, I
would explain how other countries have started to create physician assistant programs to
introduce them into the health care system. I hope to learn the difference between a physician
and a physician assistant because both have the same job description but have different titles.

I hope to shadow a physician assistant working in either primary care or in emergency medicine.
During my mentor hours, I would like to see what a typical day is like for a physician assistant
and learn about their job. I hope to gain knowledge about the new title of physician assistants. A
possible pride project could be creating a fundraiser to help others that are not able to receive
primary care.

I have read Pine Lake’s ethics guide and understand that plagiarism, either intentional or
unintentional will result in a zero on my paper.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle Kolesar
